Saturday Drive-Thru Hours Resume at Certain Locations

Effective Saturday, May 16th, and until further notice, our 9 drive-thru locations currently operating will now be open on Saturdays from 8:30 am until 12:00 pm, in addition to regular hours Monday through Friday. These locations include:

Paycheck Protection Program Update For Business Customers - Additional Funding Available

On Friday, President Trump signed the Phase 3.5 emergency interim coronavirus relief bill into law. This bill delivers $310 billion to the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), with $30 billion reserved for community-based lenders like First Columbia Bank.  

We are continuing to process the applications we have received, and we strongly encourage business customers to make sure they submit all the required information and documentation immediately to complete their application. 

If business customers are interested in applying for a PPP loan, but have not yet done so, we strongly encourage them to submit their application and the required documentation immediately. There is no guarantee as to how long the funds will be available. Please contact us at sbappp@firstcolumbiabank.com for more information. We are encouraged by this additional funding and look forward to the opportunity to help our business customers secure the funding they need at this critical time.

Branch Closures and Saturday Hours Change

Effective Friday, April 24th we are closing our Berwick Market St. branch, Scott Township branch, and Bloomsburg Market St. branch in addition to the previously closed Walmart and Orangeville branches. This will enable us to staff our other branches with a rotating team of bankers to ensure the safety of our employees and our customers. The drive-thrus at the following branch locations will remain open during regular business hours, except for Saturday when all branches will now be closed:

East St., Bloomsburg

You may continue to use the ATMs at all of our locations, in addition to any Sheetz or Allpoint ATM fee-free.

Paycheck Protection Program Status

We want to let our business customers know the initial funds for the SBA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) have all been appropriated. Congress has been in discussions to re-fund the program; however, at this time, there is no resolution.

While there are no funds available currently, we plan to finalize the loan applications we have in progress so that if additional funding opens up, we will be prepared to advance more funds. If you have not yet applied for a PPP loan, we would encourage you to still apply, and provide the necessary documentation, in the event additional funds become available. Contact your lender or email sbappp@firstcolumbiabank.com to request an application package.

Since the Paycheck Protection Program launched, we have been able to assist more than 250 local businesses with approximately $23 million in emergency loans. We are hopeful additional program funds become available so we can continue to help businesses, unfortunately there is no guarantee.  We will keep you informed about the status of the PPP program and encourage you to check back here for updates. Please contact your lender to discuss other options we may have available to help you during this time.

First Columbia Bank is now set up to accept and process fully-completed applications for business customers interested in participating in the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which is being administered through the Small Business Administration (SBA) as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. In this unprecedented time, we know local businesses are experiencing tremendous financial strain. We know you need us now more than ever—and we commit to being here for you.

The passage of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act on March 27th includes a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) administered by the Small Business Administration (SBA), which was launched on April 3rd. This program is designed to assist small businesses with payroll and other expenses through emergency loans.

Banks are the processing channels for these loans, and First Columbia Bank is mobilizing resources to make these loans available as quickly as possible. This program is being implemented under extraordinary circumstances and with incredible speed, but with limited guidance and instructions. Due to the compressed timing of this program’s launch, some elements of the application process and documentation requirements are continuing to change, making the process a moving target and challenging to implement for all banks. We are working hard to ramp up in real-time—building the systems, policies, and procedures that ensure we make these loans correctly and in compliance with the program’s requirements. Under this new program, borrowers may also be eligible for loan forgiveness under certain circumstances, and so we want to make absolutely certain customers know the specific requirements and obligations upfront.

We will provide you with instructions to access our online application and will review the detailed supporting documentation that is required. In addition to the Paycheck Protection Program, First Columbia Bank is actively working with our customers to defer payments on existing business and personal loans and mortgages. Governor Tom Wolf ordered all non-life-sustaining businesses in Pennsylvania to close their physical locations as of 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020 to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Banks are considered life-sustaining businesses, and First Columbia Bank remains open with Drive-Thru Service at all of our locations during normal banking hours.

Effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020, and until further notice, First Columbia Bank will be closing lobby service at all of our branch locations, while continuing drive-thru service during regular banking hours. Our Walmart and Orangeville offices will be closed during this period. 

  • Customers are able to perform most banking transactions at our drive-thru service. This includes deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, account balance and information inquiries.
  • For circumstances requiring in-branch access, such as a loan closing; safe deposit box access; opening a certificate of deposit or estate account; financial services consultation, or other special need, please call our Customer Support Team at 570.784.1660, and we will arrange an appointment for you to meet with a banker to address your need.
  • First Columbia Bank ATM/debit card customers have free access to any of our 20 ATMs and 55,000 Allpoint or Sheetz ATMs. Learn more here.
